Peacocks are native to India. When Portuguese princess Catherine of Braganza married King Charles II of England in 1662, her dowry brought the port of Bombay to England. With that entrée, Great Britain expanded her empire to India, and the peacock′s sumptuous tail came to be used in regal decorative imagery in 18th-century English wares. We have taken that imagery and have given it a modern twist in our beautifully woven cotton linen Francis Feathers Pillow.
